Alexa Black

Creative Director

With nearly 15 years of experience in producing a variety of services for printed and digital media, I will bring creative stories to life through my extensive artistic, editorial and design capabilities. My background includes graphic and web design, content/copy editing, journalism, ghostwriting, marketing, and driving the design of forward-thinking projects. Having involvement in over 100+ literary titles branching throughout a variety of genres, and a multitude of freelance projects under my belt, it is not only a career, but a passion of mine when I am able to help breathe artistic life into the works of my talented clients. I have worked, most notably with former CEO and whistleblower Chris Riedel – Author of Blood Money; Paul Bobrowski – author of #Traceless and Gray’s Crossing, both of which are endorsed by Laker’s Co-Owner Jim Buss; prolific children’s book author Kathy Miller, fantasy author/illustrator Brandon Pilcher, among others.

Erin James

Administrative Manager

I bring my background as a planner and organizer to Word Journeys Literary Services as our operations manager. Besides being a contributing editor to STEM Today and Sustainability Today magazines, I interface with clients on all projects while assisting with editorial development.

I’m a huge fan of memoirs, autobiographical novels, children’s books, STEM-based literature, and mental health awareness titles. I love the voices and stories of people who have transformed their lives and then gone on to make the world a better place. The mother of twin daughters, I have a sports background as well as a former high school soccer and basketball star.

Destiny Nolan

Researcher / Strategist

“I fell in love with writing when I was a little girl, journaling and writing stories in the Kentucky countryside.” From there, Destiny Nolan has already emerged as a rock-star writer in her early 20s, and is going deeper into her publishing career. She began attending writing workshops at age 9, by far the youngest in the room, and today is a feature writer for STEM Today, Sustainability Today and Innovation & Tech Today magazines. The youngest of the “Supergirls” on the Word Journeys Literary team, she also is a book editor and manuscript evaluator, specializing in memoir and fiction.
