Robert Yehling is an Independent Publishers Book Award and Sigma Delta Chi Society award-winning author, journalist, ghostwriter, editor, educator, and marketing and public relations executive, with most of his work in the innovation, technology, health/wellness/sports, and music/entertainment fields.

During his writing career, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017, Robert has written 10 books, edited more than 140 titles (over 130 of which were published), and ghostwritten seven others. Recent titles include Just Add Water, the biography of autistic surf star Clay Marzo and the 2015 Dollie Gray Literature Award recipient; When We Were the Boys, with Stevie Salas, the #1 ranked book in Amazon.com’s Arts & Photography category from Sept.-Oct. 2014; the Independent Publishers Book Award-winning Writes of Life: Using Personal Experiences in Everything You Write; The Champion’s Way, written with former U.S. Ski Team coach Dr. Steve Victorson; the award-winning poetry collection Backroad Melodies; and De-Stress for Success, ghostwritten for Australian kinesiologist Leo Willcocks.

Robert also has a 40-year background as a print journalist and magazine editor. He has written more than 1,800 articles for over 50 consumer, trade and branded titles, including National Geographic Traveler, Health, Unlimited, American Idol Magazine, Mercedes Momentum, Westways, Action Sports Business, Sports & Athletes, Positive Impact, Surfer, Ski, Innovation & Tech Today, and many others. He has profiled and worked with Olympic gold medalists, Apollo astronauts, Fortune 500 executives, Rock & Roll and Major League Baseball Hall of Famers, medical and fitness innovators, authors, filmmakers, and more. He is a 3-time Sigma Delta Chi journalism award winner.

On the Internet, Robert was among the first generation of writer/editors to migrate print content to the web in the mid-1990s, while Associate Publisher at Faircount International. He co-created and edited www.extremesports.com, which won two awards for content quality in the late 1990s. In 2008, Robert also completed work on an interactive web exhibit, Poetry Through the Ages (www.webexhibits.org/poetry)featured on “Voice of America” and in Poetry Magazine. Robert also composed the teacher lesson plans in Poetry Through the Ages.

A former college writing professor, Robert has also been a popular writing workshop teacher, with a unique skill set that includes workshops on creative business writing, fiction, non-fiction, memoir, travelogue, and the social networking, marketing and promotion of books. He has presented workshops to writers and corporations in twenty states and five countries.
